Run classic Windows games and apps on Android
Most Android devices use ARM processors, and most older Windows games were built for x86 PCs. ExaGear sits between those two worlds: it creates an x86 environment on ARM, uses Wine to implement the Windows API, and gives older 32-bit games and PC utilities a practical way to run on mobile hardware.
It is not a cloud gaming service, a console emulator or a 64-bit Windows replacement. ExaGear is for people who want to run classic Windows software directly on Android through local emulation - retro PC gamers, Android power users and emulation enthusiasts who enjoy tuning a setup until it works.

An x86 environment with Wine
ExaGear runs a virtualized x86 layer on ARM and uses Wine, the Windows compatibility layer, to implement the Windows API. Many older 32-bit programs install and launch much as they would on an old PC.
Multiple rendering paths
Pick the renderer that fits your GPU and your game. VirGL and DDRAW cover broad compatibility, WineD3D handles older DirectX titles, and DXVK, Turnip or Zink unlock more on supported Adreno hardware.
Touch controls for PC games
Classic titles were built for keyboard and mouse. ExaGear adds custom touch controls and ships with Input Bridge so those games stay usable on a phone or tablet without an external controller.
Per-game containers
Keep separate containers for games that need different settings. Configure resolution, virtual drives, renderers and controls per title, with container icons for cleaner organization, so one setup never breaks another.
Bundled legacy components
The prepared build ships with the files old installers expect: legacy DirectX, DirectShow and DirectPlay, CoreFonts, PhysX and AGEIA fixes, Visual C++ DLLs, bink32, Miles Sound System, WinG and GDI+.
Local execution, no cloud
Everything runs on the device. No streaming, no remote PC and no account. Performance depends on your hardware, GPU and the specific Windows program rather than on a constant network connection.
What ExaGear can run
ExaGear is strongest with older 32-bit Windows software. The right classic game can feel surprisingly playable; the wrong modern game will struggle or not run at all.

Device compatibility
ExaGear performance depends on the Android version, processor, GPU, renderer and the specific Windows program being launched. Use these notes to set realistic expectations before you download.
Android versions
- Android 6 - 7Supported.
- Android 8 - 10Supported with no major listed issues. The cleanest target for compatibility.
- Android 11Supported, but D: drive access may be slow.
- Android 12 - 13Supported. The earlier keyboard bug is fixed in newer builds.
- Android 14Compatibility may vary by device and build.
Recommended device profile
- A Snapdragon SoC with an Adreno 6xx or 7xx GPU for the widest renderer choice
- Android 8 to Android 13 for the cleanest compatibility
- Enough storage for the APK, game files, virtual drives and extracted data
- Enough RAM to keep both Android and the emulated Windows environment stable
Note: certain Huawei devices on Android 10 and newer may have launch issues.
GPU and renderer support
Choosing the right renderer for your GPU is one of the most important steps for performance and compatibility. Adreno 6xx and 7xx devices offer the most flexibility.

Renderer guide
Each rendering path has its own strengths. Here is when each one is worth trying.
VirGL Overlay
Uses virgl-renderer and needs OpenGL ES 2.1 or 3.0 and higher. One of the main paths in ExaGear and the practical default for devices without Turnip, Zink or DXVK.
VirtIO-GPU
Uses virgl_vtest_server with open drivers such as Turnip and Zink. Needs compatible Adreno hardware: Adreno 616 and newer, while Adreno 610 and 612 are not supported on this path.
Turnip
An open-source Vulkan driver for Adreno GPUs, most relevant on Snapdragon devices. It generally targets Adreno 610 and newer and needs access to GPU device files.
Zink
Translates OpenGL to Vulkan. Useful on GPUs that support Vulkan but have weaker native OpenGL support.
DXVK
Translates Direct3D calls to Vulkan. On compatible Adreno devices it can improve performance or compatibility, but it is not a universal fix - some old games still run better on WineD3D, DDRAW or VirGL.
DDRAW
For very old Windows games. Broadly supported across GPU types and often the right choice for early 2D titles.
LLVM
A software renderer. It is slow, but useful when hardware acceleration does not work correctly or when compatibility matters more than speed.

Installation
Enable unknown sources
Allow installs from your browser or file manager in Android settings so the ExaGear APK can be installed outside the Play Store.
Install the APK
Download the signed ExaGear APK below and open it to install ExaGear like any other Android application.
Create a container
Open ExaGear and create or load a container, then choose a renderer and resolution to start from.
Add your game
Copy the Windows game or application files into the container storage, then launch the executable from inside ExaGear.
Tune and test
Adjust renderer, resolution, controls, audio and DLL settings per game. Start with one known-compatible title before building a larger library.

Know the limits before you download
ExaGear is powerful inside its niche, but it has clear boundaries. It supports 32-bit x86 Windows software, not full 64-bit Windows. Game support varies, hardware acceleration depends on the GPU, and some Android versions introduce input, storage or performance quirks. Certain Huawei devices on Android 10 and newer may fail to launch.
Modern games may not run, and some titles need manual fixes. Full speed is never guaranteed. The best results come from choosing suitable games and matching the renderer to the device - specific compatibility, not vague promises.
